DETERMINING SERVICE OPTIONS

Generally, we work with clients in one of three ways:

• As a Landscape Architect / Contractor:
In this, our preferred option, we provide turn-key design (plans) and construction services from start to finish. Normal design fees and site supervision are included in the cost of construction. This option includes the greatest flexibility in collaboration with our clients and effectively allows for adjustments in concept and cost as the work proceeds.

• As a Contractor:
In this option, we utilize plans and specifications developed by others to provide pricing and budget development for clients. We may also make suggestions or recommendations to enhance the proposed plans and or their cost effectiveness.

• As a Landscape Architect:
In some cases we are asked to provide fee proposals or hourly rates to develop plans and manage projects for clients. In these cases, we develop a scope of services and fees based upon the clients perceived needs and proceed upon approval of each stage.

We do not believe in the validity of those who would offer "free estimates" as this implies that the time to develop quality design solutions has no value. Further, we submit that those who would offer the enticement of "free estimates" in truth are including these costs within proposals for service. As we approach each client with the optimism of a perceived exclusive commitment to do business, we expect that our clients will also be forthcoming in their intentions with regard to utilization of our services.

It is important to note that we do not always need to implement every step of the process on every project. In many cases, steps may be combined or skipped depending upon complexity or perceived client need. It is however, also important to us that our clients understand the value, efficiency and necessity of process on the way to good design solutions.
